+ Where should I start?
Begin in Open Level to learn our basic building blocks of BARRED vocabulary. Also recommended are privates with creator Lisa Eaton or other master trainers to get one on one instruction.
+ Is this method “too hard” for dancers? Do you have to be an aerialist?
BARRED is an incredible addition to Dance Training. We combine all dance styles & further develop full body awareness. Dancers discover a more dynamic range in their physical expression while training. Aerialists and Pole Dancers love BARRED. Their skills translate beautifully, however, it is NOT a pre-requisite.
+ It looks so fun, what should I know ahead of time?
Wear clothes that protect back of legs + your back. Unlike other disciplines we slide through positions on the apparatus which makes for stunning transitions. BARRED develops your body from the inside out. You will discover your core in a whole new way and the limitless connections from head to toe.
+ How do I go upside down safely?
Please tell the instructor if you have a fear of heights. Open level classes will break down the inversions both on top + underneath the apparatus. Studies have proven inversions improve brain function, release neurotransmitters, balance hormones, and awaken endorphins. A beautiful bonus is seeing the world from a different perspective.
+ I'm a professional dancer, which class do you recommend??
We recommend everyone starts by taking the open level classes to learn our unique vocabulary + build strength.
+ Can I film myself?
Yes, our BARRED community loves filming our progress, and you will have that opportunity at the end of class.
Please NO lotion, and be prepared to take your rings off.
